According to Trustnodes, the implementation of new rules in the blockchain system (Hardfork Berlin) in the Ethereum platform has been suspended due to the need to improve updates.
The main developer of the system, Hudson Jameson, assured two weeks ago that the development was approaching the final and, in general, everything was going well.
He claimed that no later than next week, they will have final documentation and new proposals for improving the Ethereum platform ready for implementation. The developer has assured that they have created a new alternative blockchain (testnet) called YOLO.
But recently, during an online conference, it turned out that the developers did not manage to launch the testnet in the agreed terms, due to the fact that not all corporate portals (EIP) were connected to the common system.
Before the implementation of nrdfork, it was planned to use the new testnet for half a year as a test platform for interacting with users.
Including the Berlin update for the Ethereum platform, it was supposed to be launched in the last days of June. However, due to the current situation, now, according to the most optimistic assumptions, the implementation of onrdfork will take place not earlier than autumn.
To implement the Ethereum 2.0 platform from scratch, it is necessary to launch a new update of the Berlin system, which means that the question of introducing the second version of the system remains open.
Moreover, the launch of the Berlin system is associated with the implementation of other changes, including:
- a change in the corporate portal EIP-1057 (Prog Pow), which was supposed to increase the functioning of mining on the GPU GPU of the Ethereum platform in order to protect against ASIC miners;
- updates that regulate gas prices for different operations: for corporate portals EIP 1380. EIP 2045. EIP 2046;
- an update aimed at improving the Ethereum platform, in particular at optimizing the functioning of the virtual machine: EIP 1985.
Also, most recently, the Schlesi testnet (ETH 2.0) collapsed due to a lack of consensus between users.
