Legalization of cryptocurrencies in Uzbekistan

According to the decree of the President of Uzbekistan, now cryptocurrency trading is becoming legal in the state, and exchanges can freely obtain a license to operate if they fulfill the relevant requirements. If an exchange registered in another state plans to operate on the territory of Uzbekistan, it will have to create and register a subsidiary exchange in this country, as well as carry out activities in compliance with all current legislation. This applies not only to exchanges, but also to trading platforms, exchangers, terminals and other companies that, in one way or another, profit from the provision of services for working with cryptocurrency.
The text of the law contains a definition of the concepts of cryptocurrency exchange and cryptocurrency assets. A cryptocurrency exchange is defined as an organization that provides registered users with a platform for performing various actions with cryptocurrency - on the exchange, you can buy, sell and exchange cryptocurrency both for other digital currencies and for fiat funds in electronic form.

Cryptocurrency assets have a definition of the combination of records contained in the blockchain chain. At the same time, important attributes of cryptocurrency assets are a certain value and the presence of a holder, that is, an owner.

The law regulates the turnover of cryptocurrency assets, and is regulated by separate provisions that differ from the regulation of the work of ordinary exchange organizations with assets in the form of securities. The text also contains detailed requirements for legal entities and individuals who carry out transactions with cryptocurrency assets. The taxation of income received from cryptocurrency trading will not be carried out in principle, regardless of the size of the profit.
An equally important part of the document is devoted to the description of the prevention of money laundering and the financing of illegal activities using cryptocurrencies, including terrorist ones.

As for trading platforms, they must have an initial capital of at least 30 thousand minimum wages to register an activity. At the same time, at least 20 thousand minimum wages must be reserved in a bank account. To fulfill the last point, you should choose a commercial type bank located and operating in the territory of Uzbekistan. It is also necessary to develop a trading platform that works according to the current rules.
